David D'Andrea

From his site:

David V. D'Andrea's illustration meshes hand drawn imagery with contemporary design skills, revealing his vision via screenprinted show posters, elaborate album packaging, and highly detailed pen and ink drawings.

Based in Oakland California, his roots lie firmly within the cultural underground, extending to the likes of Norwegian record labels, Paris fashion shows, global gaming sites, and Oakland warehouse spaces.

Clients have included Om, High on Fire, Scott "Wino" Weinrich, Ulver, Southern Lord Recordings, Avantgame, and Rise Above Records, amongst many others.

He received his BA in Illustration from the California College of Arts and Crafts, San Francisco, in 2006.

I really enjoy David's work, not only because he works with some of my favorite bands, but because his prints really demonstrate how skilled he is. The detail work in most of his prints is amazing. I am always impressed at his illustration skills, something that many print makers leave out in their work. His work is always layered, complex and surprisingly clean for how much detail he puts in. His blend of Horkey style details with 70's concert poster color and flair makes for some great posters.
